Fly
Ash Measurement
A global
chemical company with an on-site power plant
contacted K-TEK for a “continuous”
measuring device to monitor fly ash level. It was
identified early on that a yo-yo mechanical devices
had been the only form of level measurement and that
a more reliable source of level detection was badly
needed.

Plastics: Pellets and Flakes
K-Tek's
LM200 has been applied with great success in plastic
manufacturing in plastic silos. The customers have
previously tried to use ultrasonic mechanical
"yo-yo's" and load cells with limited success. Radar
is not suitable because the dielectric of the
product is too low.

Dusty
Applications: Dog
Food Level
A dog food
plant, located in Mechanicsburg, PA, installs
ASI’sWaveTrakTM5200 to measure levels in a dusty
application. The local ASI rep chose the WTTM5200
Guided Wave Radar because of a previous success with
a WTTM5000 at a local candy manufacturer.

Silo Measurement Problem:
Overcoming Dust, Mold &
Tight Spaces
A food
manufacturing customer has always had a problem
measuring flour in their silos. When they would run
out of product, the down time cost them thousands of
dollars lost, not only in product, but by paying
employees to stand around while they waited for a
truck to supply more flour.

Valves in Black Liquor Evaporation
Black
liquor is a thick media, which gets viscous when the
dry solids content increases. Black liquor can cause
scaling problems in the valve. Valves must be able
to perform in both control and shut-off applications.

Gas Usage Monitoring
Common
gases such as nitrogen, oxygen and argon are stored
in bulk at a common area for distribution to
departments throughout the plant. The expense of the
gas is charged to general plant overhead.

Wireless
Applications |
|

Temperature Transmission
The
Wireless temperature transmitter allows for
monitoring temperature in a wide variety of industry
applications where a thermocouple or RTD is used.
Inputs are available for most standard thermocouple
or RTD sensors. Perform high temperature analysis
and measure specified temperature ranges without the
need for a hard wired temperature monitoring system.
Send single or multiple field temperature
measurements to your control room PC, PLC or DCS
system via the Wireless link.
